It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Satakunta region. The municipality has a population of 5,711 (31 March 2010) and covers an area of 184.89 square kilometres (71.39 sq mi) of which 1.97 km2 (0.76 sq mi) is water. The population density is 31.22 inhabitants per square kilometre (80.9 /sq mi). There are two major sights in Nakkila, the church and the film studio Villilä, often referred as "Hollywood of Finland".
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
