This is from Wikipedia : South Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) on Orchid Island in Indian River County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,457 at the 2000 census. It is ranked tenth in Florida locations by per capita income.

South Beach is part of the Sebastian–Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area.

South Beach CDP in Indian River County is located at 27°35′45″N 80°20′17″W / 27.595882°N 80.338148°W / 27.595882; -80.338148.[3]

South Beach CDP on Orchid Island is bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by the county line between Indian River and St Lucie counties, on the west by the Indian River Lagoon and on the north by the Vero Beach city limits.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.9 square miles (17.8 km²), of which, 2.7 square miles (7.0 km²) of it is land and 4.2 square miles (10.9 km²) of it (60.81%) is water.
