Myanmar - Yangon - Karaweik Hall
An unforgettable scenery of Karaweik Hall, Yangon, Myanmar.
Sent by Thitar from Yangon, Myanmar.
Karaweik or Karaweik Hall is a palace on the eastern shore of Kandawgyi Lake, Yangon, Burma. The barge was designed by Burmese architect U Ngwe Hlaing, who based it on the Pyigyimon royal barge. Construction began in June 1972 and it was finished in October 1974. The barge is a two-storied construction of concerete and stucco, reinforced by iron rods, with a pyatthat-topped roof, and two reception halls and a conference room. It houses a buffet restaurant today. (Source)

Mount Popa
Mount Popa, of volcanic origin, dramatically rising to 1520m. from the surrounding plain and picturesquely festooned with vegetation, the most important place for nat worship in Burma, 50 kms. southeast of Bagan.
The second of the two postcards sent by Ei from Yangon, Myanmar.
This is from Wikipedia : Mount Popa (MLCTS: puppa: taung; IPA: [pòʊpá tàʊn]) is a volcano 1518 metres (4981 feet) above sea level, and located in central Burma (Myanmar) about 50 km (30 miles) southeast of Bagan (alt: Pagan) in the Pegu Range. It can be seen from the River Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) as far away as 60 km (40 miles) in clear weather.[3] Mount Popa is perhaps best known for the nearby stunningly picturesque Popa Taungkalat monastery atop an outcrop. The Popa Taungkalat (Taung Kalat) Shrine is home to 37 Mahagiri Nats, or spirits. Statues depicting the Nats are at the base of the Shrine.
Shwe Dagon Pagoda
The Shining Winking wonder - Shwe Dagon.
"Shwe Dagon Pagoda" has to be one of the magnificent monuments on Earth. When Shwedagon Hti (Umbrella) was repaired, the gold bud at its tip called the "Diamond Bud" was found to be crowned with a 76 carat solitaire diamond and encrusted with 4351 smaller ones (total weight 1800 carats)
The first of the two postcards sent by Ei from Yangon in Myanmar.
This is from Wikipedia : The Shwedagon Pagoda (Burmese: ; MLCTS: hrwe ti. gum. bhu. ra:; IPA: [ʃwèdəɡòun pʰəjá]), officially titled Shwedagon Zedi Daw ([ʃwèdəɡòun zèdìdɔ̀]), also known as the Golden Pagoda, is a 98-metre (approx. 321.5 feet) gilded stupa located in Yangon, Burma. The pagoda lies to the west of Kandawgyi Lake, on Singuttara Hill, thus dominating the skyline of the city. It is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda for the Burmese with relics of the past four Buddhas enshrined within, namely the staff of Kakusandha, the water filter of Konagamana, a piece of the robe of Kassapa and eight hairs of Gautama, the historical Buddha.
