Teluk Cempedak or Teluk Chempedak (literally : Cempedak Bay) also known as Palm Beach is a beach in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. It is located 5 kilometres east from the town centre in Kuantan. The white sandy beach and casuarinas and pine trees line the coast, with some rocky promontories facing the South China Sea. The fishing village of Beserah is about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) away (read further).

Malaysia - Pahang - Stadium Darul Makmur

Darul Makmur Stadium (Malay: Stadium Darul Makmur) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. It is mostly use for football matches, with a capacity of 40,000 people. The stadium has a running track, in addition to the football field. It was opened in 1970, while capacity was increased after renovations in 1995 in conjunction with Kuantan hosting the Sukma Games in 1996 and 2012 (read further).

Malaysia - Pahang - Sungei Pahang

Sunset over the Kuantan town skyline. The Kuantan River is also a favorite haunt among local anglers.

The Pahang River (Malay: Sungai Pahang) mainly flows through the state of Pahang, Malaysia. Its drainage basin covers its Pahang as well as the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan.

At 459 km in length, it is the longest river on the Malay Peninsula (read further).

The Tanjung Tembeling beach is situated between Telok Chempedak and the Kuantan Royal Golf Club.

Tanjung Tembeling Beach is located in the South China Sea (part of Pacific ocean) and ranks the 14th among 44 beaches of the Pahang region. The distance to its main city - Kuantan is 5.6 km. The center of the nearest settlement, Teluk Cempedak, is 1.3 km from the beach (read further).

Japan - Hokkaido - Blue Pond

Blue Pond (青い池, Aoi-ike) is a man-made pond feature in Biei, Hokkaido, Japan. It is the result of works on the Biei River (美瑛川), carried out after the 1988 eruption of Mount Tokachi, to protect the town of Biei from volcanic mudflows. The colour is thought to result from the accidental presence of colloidal aluminium hydroxide in the water. Damage caused by Typhoon Mindulle in August 2016 resulted in a temporary drop in the water level and in the colour briefly turning brown with mud and sand from the Biei River.

Perlis (Kedah Malay (Perlis dialect): Peghelih), is a state of Malaysia in the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is the smallest state in Malaysia by area and population, as well as the northernmost in the country. The state borders the Thai provinces of Satun and Songkhla to the north and the Malaysian state of Kedah to the south. Perlis is the only Malaysian state that is not divided into districts, due to its small size, but it is still divided into several communes. It was called Palit (Thai: ปะลิส) by the Siamese when it was under their influence. Perlis had a population of 227,025 as of the 2010 census (read further).

Padang Besar (Kedah Malay: Padang Besaq; Jawi: ڤادڠ بسر; Thai: ปาดังเบซาร์), often abbreviated as Padang or P.B., is a border town located in the northern part of the state of Perlis in Malaysia as well as the northernmost major town in Malaysia. It is situated on the border with Songkhla province, Thailand, 35 kilometers northeast of Kangar and about 57 km southwest of Hat Yai. The town opposite Padang Besar in Thailand is also known as Padang Besar, although the locals here usually refer to the town as "Pekan Siam" or Siamese town. The town is a "shopping heaven" and popular destination for Malaysians because of the duty-free shopping complex in between the border checkpoints of the two countries. The town attracts several thousand visitors from Peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand every weekend and during public holidays (read further).

Kuala Perlis (Kedah Malay: Kola Peghelih; Jawi: كوالا ڤرليس) is a suburb of Kangar and the second-largest town in and the main port of Perlis in Malaysia. It is in extreme northwest Peninsular Malaysia, near the border with Thailand. The older part of town has houses and mosques built on stilts over mangrove swamps.

Along with its Kedahan counterpart, Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis is a transit point for tourists to embark on a ferry ride to the resort island of Langkawi (read further).

Masjid Al Hussain is one of the many floating mosques to be built in Malaysia. This magnificent landmark located in Kuala Perlis was stunningly designed with modern Islamic tropical culture in mind, featuring elements that bring a touch of nature to its facade. If you look closely, the mosque is filled with intricate natural elements such as coral stones, broken quartz, marble, granite and pebble stones (read further).

Sanday, Orkney

Sanday is the largest of the North Isles and is low-lying with many lovely sandy beaches and dunes. The island is famous for its archaeology and wildlife. Quoyness chambered cairn and Start Point lighthouse are two man-made attractions. The local inhabitants are known as Grulie Belkies, a somewhat derogatory term meaning, Fat Bellies.

Sanday (/ˈsændiː/, Scots: Sandee) is one of the inhabited islands of Orkney that lies off the north coast of mainland Scotland. With an area of 50.43 km² (19.5 sq mi), it is the third largest of the Orkney Islands. The main centres of population are Lady Village and Kettletoft. Sanday can be reached by Orkney Ferries or by plane (Sanday Airport) from Kirkwall on the Orkney Mainland.
